Thomas M. Brehmer

Thomas M. Brehmer

A nationally-recognized corporate income tax authority, Tom has been delivering expert advice and personal service to clients for more than 35 years.

A former partner at KPMG, Tom founded VPTax (then known as EricThomas) in 1991 to provide cost-effective income tax services to forward-thinking companies. The firm's strategy was to offer a pragmatic alternative to the conventional way of thinking about corporate tax, and was lauded by publications such as Inc. Magazine and Accounting Today.

With early clients like Sun Microsystems, Inc. in the mid 1990's, VPTax became a trusted partner for in-house tax and finance departments, delivering multi-national and multi-state income tax compliance as well as other tax services. Under Tom's leadership, VPTax added some of the best-known names among Silicon Valley tech companies to its client roster, including nVidia Corporation, JDS Uniphase, Trimble Navigation, and Veritas Software.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa, and lives in San Jose, California with his wife. They have three children.

Todd A. Suchevits

Todd A. Suchevits

Todd joined the VPTax team in 2007, bringing more than 11 years of expertise in international tax, tax accounting, corporate compliance, transactional tax, property tax and a range of other specialties. His breadth of experience and knowledge of corporate taxes enables him to provide practical solutions and serve as an outsourced tax director to VPTax's clients.

Prior to joining VPTax, Todd held roles overseeing the tax, treasury, risk and stock administration functions for Solidus Networks, Inc. and Hands-On Mobile. He also oversaw international taxes at large public technology companies Electronic Arts and Siebel Systems.

Previously, Todd held positions with Coopers & Lybrand in Seattle and KPMG in San Francisco, where he focused on the technology industry and was part of the Global Transactions Services Group dealing with tax structuring and due diligence for M&A and investment opportunities.

Todd lives in San Francisco. He received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Accounting and French, and his M.P.Acc. in Taxation from the University of Washington.

Shelby J. Eckroth

Shelby J. Eckroth

Shelby is a recent addition to the VPTax team, joining in 2012. Shelby has been working on tax returns since she was a teenager, and brings 15 years of corporate tax experience, including work in private industry with multi-national, multi-billion dollar companies like Hitachi, Vodafone, MultiCare Health System and Fluke Electronics Corporation.

Before joining VPTax, Shelby was Tax Director at Fluke Electronics, a subsidiary of Danaher, a Fortune 200 company active in technology, life sciences, and manufacturing industry. At Fluke, Shelby gained extensive experience with tax controllership activities including M&A integrations, corporate compliance, audit support, international entity management, transfer pricing, property tax and sales and use taxes.

Prior to her roles in the corporate sector, Shelby held positions at Ernst & Young and KPMG in San Francisco. Her responsibilities in public accounting were focused on corporate compliance and planning for biotechnology companies and large real estate partnerships.

Shelby lives in the Seattle area. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and her M.P.Acc. in Taxation from the University of Washington.

Andrew W. Gotelli

Andrew W. Gotelli

A member of the VPTax leadership team since 1993, Andy has more than 37 years of experience as a tax professional. At VPTax, he focuses on financial institutions and venture capital, and brings to the team his unmatched expertise in bank, real estate and equipment leasing tax practice, and in the preparation of related corporate income and state franchise and income tax returns.

Andy spent 29 years at KPMG, serving as a partner for two decades. Andy was a senior financial administrative executive, and had responsibilities in the areas of production, finance, sales and personnel development.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada-Reno.
